The Beatles – I Am The Walrus – 1967

On September 29, 1967, while at Abbey Road in London, The Beatles mixed John Lennon’s newly crafted song, “I Am The Walrus.” This composition featured the incorporation of the sound of a radio scanning through numerous stations, eventually settling on a BBC production of William Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” Lennon created this song by amalgamating three previously developed compositions. Upon discovering that a teacher at his former primary school had tasked students with analyzing Beatles lyrics, he introduced an additional verse composed of nonsensical words.
